The Department of Laser Engineering and Optoelectronics was established in the academic year 2004-2005. The proposal was made by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science, which was associated with the University of Technology on 1/10/2003 after extensive study including preparing the curricula and preparing the appropriate staff for such study and the presence of the laser engineering branch in Al-Rasheed College of Engineering and Science, This section was composed of teachers and staff at the beginning of the formation, drawing on the experience and equipment available at the time
Educational Objectives of the Laser Engineering Program
1- Successful training of students in the field of laser engineering.
2. Building human capacities through encouraging them to participate in various scientific activities, enrolling them in postgraduate studies, and training in various fields.
3 - inclusion of graduates in education for life through continuous education and training.
4 - Download and develop the research aspect of the academic program in the development and design of lasers for various applications
