The University of Technology obtains the official Iraqi accreditation certificate
The University of Technology (represented by the Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering) obtained the official Iraqi accreditation certificate issued by the Ministry of Planning, the Iraqi Accreditation Authority (IQAS).
The fact that the Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering at the University of Technology obtained the accreditation certificate came in implementation of the directives of the esteemed Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on the necessity of supporting and activating activities that enhance the axis of (community service and leadership), which represents an important axis among the other two axes (education and scientific research), within the three axes of the tasks of universities.
In implementation of the direction of (maximizing resources and increasing financial revenues for government institutions), which the Council of Ministers sought to make a practical method in implementing the government program, and in an unprecedented achievement at the level of universities and educational institutions in the Ministry of Higher Education and other ministries in Iraq.
The accreditation certificate provides the university with the opportunity to hold high-level training courses for engineers and technicians in the labor market and for the public and private sectors, and for all various engineering and technical specializations that use laser and optoelectronics technologies in many civil, security and medical applications, which is the pillar of digital transformation technology.
Workshop
The head of the bonuses and promotions committee in the department, Senior Chief Engineer (Mudhar Muhammad Raouf), held a workshop for the members of the bonuses and promotions committee on Tuesday 10/8/2024, where the employee’s rights were discussed, including the annual bonus and promotion, in addition to the conditions for promotion and cases of delay in granting the bonus and promotion, with promotion procedures and some administrative matters in this topic and the laws related to it. At the end of the lecture, some questions were raised and answered.
Seedling planting campaign
On Tuesday 10/1/2024, our department students, under the supervision and participation of the department’s faculty and staff, carried out a campaign to plant seedlings and flowers that decorated the university’s gardens. The campaign was initiated by the university president, the university’s assistant president for administrative affairs, the department head, and the administrative assistant, followed by the faculty, staff, and students. A beautiful atmosphere prevailed among the participants, under the supervision of the senior chief engineer (Sahar Jawad Mahdi) - Director of the Agricultural Division at the university.
Training course for new staff members
The Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering held a two-day training course for new staff members (Master’s degree holders) 9-10/10/2024. It was delivered by Senior Chief Engineer (Mudhar Muhammad Raouf), Director of the Human Resources Department, to learn about the laws and instructions related to the employee, including (State Employees Discipline Law, Civil Service Law, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Law, Code of Conduct) in addition to other administrative matters that benefit the work of new members.
Workshop entitled (Code of Conduct)
The Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering held a workshop entitled (Professional Conduct Regulations) on Sunday 10/13/2024 in the department hall, where the sub-committee in the department delivered it and included the Professional Conduct Regulations No. 6 of 2016.
The workshop aimed to introduce and inform employees and those assigned to public service about the importance of what is stated in the regulation of duties and obligations that must be carried out and what are the consequences of violating it, as well as the necessity of filling out the form and signing it by employees in order to keep it in the personal archive.
